October 22nd, 2015: Week One. A.K.A The Longest Week of My Life!

I. Love. The. MTC.

It is seriously amazing here. I am in love with it all. I am convinced I have the best companion ever. His name is Jason Sherrill, and he is a recent convert from California. Him and I are already best friends. He was baptized a little over a year ago, and I swear he knows more than I do about the gospel. It’s amazing. We get along so well, and we fit each other perfectly.

Our district is awesome. We have an Australian Shimai (Sister) as well as a Taiwanese Shimai. It is rad. They are all spiritual giants, and I hope they rub off on me.

Nihongo wa hontoo muzukashi desu. (Japanese is really difficult.) We have been teaching an investigator named Shimizu san. She committed to be baptized on our third lesson! It was an amazing feeling. Our last lesson was very rough. It was on the law of chastity... I know, right?! Haha, it didn’t help that one of our teachers, Babcock Shimai (Our teachers are literally the greatest people ever.), told us not to use prepared phrases, and just use vocab. So, as I was writing down vocab, I wrote down the word sexual...because the law of chastity... and it was something like seiteki na. Then, right below it was the word sacred, which I also intended to write down. But, right when I was about to write it down, I got distracted and accidentally wrote down the word for sexual in place of sacred without noticing. So... fast forward a half an hour to our lesson. We were saying stuff like, "Marriage is very sexual." and, "The Law of Chastity is sexual." ...... YEAH. I KNOW. I finally noticed when my companion used his dictionary to look up sacred and we realized it was wrong. I audibly said, " Oh. Crap." and of course, Shimizu san can speak English, so when she realized that I had noticed my mistake, we all started dying. We probably laughed for a solid ten minutes. I was so embarrassed. Literally one of the worst mistakes I could have made. But it made for a good story.....

I am so grateful for all of your guys' good examples on me. I hope all of you know that. Every single one of you has rubbed off on me and helped me get to where I am today. I couldn't be more thankful. I mention you all in my prayers every night.

How are all of you doing?! I would love it if you all wrote me handwritten letters... I know it is difficult, but it is the best feeling ever to get a letter. I can also read it when it isn't P-Day... So that is rad. ALSO!!! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! My companion has been getting a ton of letters from all of these girls through the Dear Elder system. If you don't know what it is, it’s alright. I didn’t. But I really want to show him up and get more than him... Haha, so go and register on Dear Elder, it is free, and send me a letter telling me how you are all doing! Or you can write me. But I will try and write you all back. I don’t remember what my address is, and I realized that I never gave it out. But I have some basic info that should help:

Mailbox is 163
Branch 27-B
Nagoya, Japan
Elder Passey

That should be enough... I hope! I look forward to hearing from all of you!

Thanks again!

Ganbatte! (Good Luck!)

(I WILL SEND PICTURES LATER... WE ARE STILL TRYING TO FIGURE IT ALL OUT!) :) <3
